About Us


The Nizamabad Black Pottery Cluster is a flagship initiative implemented by Samajik Utthan Sewa Samiti (SUSS) under the SFURTI Scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. Renowned for its distinct black sheen and intricate silver engravings, this centuries-old terracotta art form has placed Nizamabad, Azamgarh on the global craft map.
Vision and Mission

Vision
The cluster has been developed as a Common Facility Center (CFC) equipped with modern infrastructure to support artisans in production, training, and marketing—enabling them to scale their traditional skills into sustainable livelihoods.


Mission
We promote sustainable social change by improving the living conditions of vulnerable population, especially women & children, and to act as a resource centre for providing Knowledge to the villagers / NGOs / Schools / Corporate /Government agencies all across the globe.

Objective


The cluster aims to transform the black pottery ecosystem through a comprehensive development model:
- Revive the traditional black pottery craft of Nizamabad
- Upgrade Skills through expert-led training sessions
- Equip artisans with electric wheels, tunnel kilns, and modern tools
- Enable Market Linkages through exhibitions, digital platforms, and buyer meets
- Promote Livelihoods for rural youth, women, and traditional craftspeople
- Establish a Self-Reliant Production System through SPV and CFC
